Vaultus and Research In Motion form strategic alliance to enhance wireless
services for enterprise customers


Vaultus to Deliver BlackBerry Enterprise Edition for Lotus Domino and
Microsoft Exchange Platforms


NEW YORK, NY, Jan. 16, 2001 - Vaultus, a leading mobile applications
provider (MAP) for enterprises, and Research In Motion(R) Limited (RIM(R))
(Nasdaq: RIMM; TSE; RIM), a world leader in the mobile communication
market, announced today a strategic alliance to deliver powerful messaging
and other wireless applications that help enterprise customers reduce costs
and gain greater sales efficiencies. The alliance enhances Vaultus'
portfolio of managed wireless services and gives businesses a turnkey way
to add the industry leading features of the BlackBerry(TM) wireless email
solution to the Microsoft(R) Exchange and Lotus(R) Domino(TM) platforms.


As part of the alliance, Vaultus and RIM signed a new distribution
agreement for the award-winning BlackBerry wireless email solution. Under
the terms of the agreement, RIM will supply Vaultus a minimum of 50,000
BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds(TM) with associated software and services
within the next two years.


BlackBerry Enterprise Edition(TM) for Lotus Domino (announced earlier this
week) will be available from Vaultus and marks the first wireless handheld
solution to offer tight integration with Lotus Notes(R) and Domino together
with end-to-end security and 'Always On, Always Connected(R)' operation.
BlackBerry Enterprise Edition for Microsoft Exchange is also available from
Vaultus. Research indicates that over 60 million people in the United
States currently use Lotus Domino or Microsoft Exchange.
